Utah Wedding Photography

Choosing a wedding photographer is perhaps one of the most important decisions you make during the wedding planning process. Your wedding will only last a day, but the photographs that captured the event will last a lifetime, so it is imperative that you take the necessary time to interview and research different photographers. You will want to find one that has the style, personality, and abilities you are looking for to capture your big day. The following are questions and concerns to inquire of photographers when you are meeting with them.

- Ask if they have any experience shooting at your venue.

- Ask if they will have an assistant with them to help them with their equipment.

- Make sure they will have backup equipment just in case of camera failure and see if it is the same quality as the original.

- Make sure you communicate what time they will start and finish, and if there is a maximum number of hours.

- Find out the date that all the proofs will be ready and if you get to keep the proofs.

- Find out if you are able to keep the negatives or digital files. Some photographers maintain the rights to the negatives, so you will have to do all print orders through them. Also find out how long they keep the negatives and if they would be willing to sell them to you.

- Find out how the photographer will be dressed the day of the wedding; some prefer to have the photographer’s attire match the wedding, especially if it is black tie or ultra formal.

- Make a checklist of important shots and individuals that you want photographed! Make sure you convey this to the Utah wedding photographer before the wedding.
